Spring Hill’s after-school program offers students an array of activities, including our bilingual after-school program as well as extracurricular classes.
Our after-school programs offer to children fun and engaging activities with friends and to parents the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children are happy and cared for by our credentialed teachers:
Our bilingual after-school Toddler program begins at the end of the school day (3:00) and is available until 6:00 pm, offering our youngest students the security and familiarity of an environment and teachers they know. Following their afternoon naptime, children begin their afternoon with a healthy snack, followed by outside time on our safe and beautiful Toddler playground where they are free to play on the toddler-sized play structure, explore in the sandbox, test drive our variety of riding toys, and play hide and seek in their playhouse. The latter part of the afternoon includes constructive play focusing on creativity, as well as art and story time. Our bilingual teachers positively expose children to Spanish in a way that is fun and age appropriate.
- 3:00-3:30 – Snack time inside the classroom
- 3:30-4:30 – Playground time
- 4:30-6:00 – Inside activities
Our bilingual after-school program at our lower campus is led by our bilingual after-school program director Eva Munoz and teacher Evelyn Martinez, both native Spanish speakers. All preschool and kindergarten students who stay for after-school extended care (2:30-6:00 pm) are part of the bilingual after-school program.
Our bilingual after-school Primary program begins with snack and lots of outside activities on our large playground for our energetic preschool and kindergarten students. Outside time is followed by the scheduled activity of the day (e.g., cooking, folkloric dance, sports, art, etc.). Students participate in daily conversational Spanish and build on their Spanish familiarity and knowledge through introduction of vocabulary, stories, activities, games, art, and cultural dance and activities. The fun and engaging activities expose children to a variety of creative learning experiences, all infused with Spanish. Activities rotate daily and include: gardening, cooking, athletics and sports, cultural activities, music and dance, arts & crafts.
- 2:30-3:30 – Snack and playground time
- 3:30-4:30 – Activity of the day
- 4:30-5:00 – Spanish circle time
- 5:00-6:00 – Reading and inside playtime
